Ikenaga Yasunari

Sweet japanese artist I saw on Cgunit.
The link above is not Cgunit, but it has more examples and a more aesthetically pleasing layout. THEREFORE, *linked*.

Anyway, his work references japanese woodblock prints in the somewhat flattened patterning of the clothing and backgrounds. I've been really fixated on patterns and motif lately and i hope to make it more prevalent in my work this year.

    Anyways, it's an amazing aesthetic, I'd like to see my work get flatter like this... it's kinda Art-Nouveau, though I know the reference is printing.
