I enjoy the self referencing use of media in these sculpture works by Kelly Mark.

Also, this blog in general makes me kinda wish I had taken more sculpture studios.

Versions

The in-depth and ever insightful discussion of my Breaker High post lead me to remember this interesting video essay "Versions" by Oliver Laric. He muses on analysing interpretations rather than originals in that they are just as, if not more "real". Key issues include re-appropriation, alteration, and subsequent consumption of these images.

At least I think that's what it's about.. It took me a few viewings to grasp what he was saying.. anyway, it's a trippy video to watch late at night when you're in a sleep deprived, self medicated haze of eye strain and creative block.

Night,

Skineart

A neat site dedicated to moleskine art, open for anyone to submit. It makes me want to assign sketchbook missions for you guys to complete... man, i've gotten really demanding of people lately! Maybe I AM cut out for teaching.. or at least bossing people around :P

My apologies if i seem pushy. Especially to my girls in Five&One. That's what we're called now btw. We have a name, therefore we are officially a hot shot artistic collective. Details to come.
